Shipments of sandbags are still arriving in Lakeshore.
Town council has been provided with an update and 10,000 sandbags were received on Monday, July 15th, with another 10,000 on order.
The town's Director of Engineering and Infrastructure Services, Nelson Cavacas, tells CTV Windsor they have handed out more than 102,000 sandbags since May.
Sandbags are available at the Atlas Tube Centre and at the Lion's Park in Lighthouse Cove.
Sand is available at several locations -- at Lion's Park in Lighthouse Cove, Gracey Sideroad at Lakeshore Rd 301, the former Belle River Arena, the West and East Public Works Shops and the Golfview Drive Lakefront Parkette.
Crews have noted that water levels have receded about two inches, but that was prior to the overnight rains.
Berms have been created on Albert Lane, Surf Club Drive, Lakeshore Park, Mariners Drive and Melody Drive.
No road closures are reported due to flooding.
Lakeshore has upgraded its response level to 'enhanced activation' — meaning emergency services are on standby in case of a disaster where a state of emergency must be declared.
On Tuesday, the Essex Region Conservation Authority extended its flood watch to August 2, 2019 due to record high lake levels and the high potential for flooding.
