Emergency crews remain on the scene of a fire in Leamington to put out hot spots.
Leamington Fire Chief, Andrew Baird, tells AM800 News a cover barn full of straw and equipment caught fire overnight causing over $30,000 in damages.
He says all of the equipment was able to be removed from the area but the straw was new within the last month so the cause of the fire was likely spontaneous combustion.
Crews were called around 11:20 p.m. Monday night to the scene at Mersea Road 10 between Essex Road 37 and County Road 1.
A number of units from Leamington and one from Kingsville battled the flames for several hours.
