Former Windsor Spitfire Ben Johnson has been sentenced to three years in prison.
Justice Kirk Munroe delivered the sentence just before 3:30pm this afternoon. Munroe says Johnson is 'not a bad person', but did 'terrible things'.
AM800 News reporter Peter Langille says Johnson stood still during the sentencing.
Outside the courthouse the mother of the victim who cannot be identified was the only family member from either side to speak.
She says her family now looks to the future:
"This is now in the rearview mirror, now we can move on as a family as a unit. My daughter can really begin to heal."

Last month Johnson was found guilty of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl, at the former Mynt nightclub in downtown Windsor, in March of 2013.
The crown was calling for at least 3.5 to 4 years in prison.
The defence was asking for the least amount of time possible but fell short of making a sentencing recommendation.
