A fire at a senior's apartment building in downtown Windsor sustained $120,000 damage, according to Windsor Fire and Rescue Services.
It started in a fifth-floor unit of St. Angela's Senior Centre on McDougall St. between Giles Blvd. and Erie St. around 9am Friday — the fire was quickly brought under control by firefighters.
A tenant tells AM800 News smoke was coming from an electrical outlet in her apartment so she called 911.
Investigators confirmed the fire originated from a coffee-pot in the unit's kitchen.
No word on injuries at this time.
