OPP report a "chain reaction" crash is to blame for a long traffic back-up on Hwy. 401 through Chatham-Kent.
The line of stalled cars stretched from Tilbury to Comber, according to callers to AM800 News.
The eastbound lanes closed at County Rd. 42 have been re-opened according to OPP.
Police report the crash happened shortly after 5pm on Friday near Queens Line in Tilbury. Construction is ongoing on the highway in the area and police say an eastbound tractor trailer suddenly stopped, which saw the trailing truck smash into the rear of the first big rig — followed by three others.
All five of the trucks had to be towed from the scene.
Three drivers were sent to hospital with minor injuries.
