No injuries are reported following a crash that closed a section of the 401 in Chatham-Kent for around 8 hours.
Around 9:30pm Thursday, provincial police responded to a crash on Highway 401 near Highway 40/Communications Rd.
The investigation revealed, due to road conditions, a westbound tractor trailer had struck a barrier.
That caused the vehicle to jack knife and block both westbound lanes of the highway.
The crash also punctured the fuel tank on the big rig, causing a large amount of diesel fuel to spill out onto the highway.
The 66-year-old male driver from Wheatley was not injured in the collision.
The highway reopened around 6am Friday.
