The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has been called in to investigate after a crash involving a police officer.
Around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, an on-duty Windsor police officer riding a bicycle was involved in a collision with a motorcycle in the area of Wyandotte Street and McDougall Street.
According to police, the officer and the driver of the motorcycle were both taken to hospital.
The driver of the motorcycle suffered serious injuries.
The SIU, which is a civilian law enforcement agency that investigates incidents involving police officers, was notified and has assigned three investigators, two forensic investigators and a collision reconstructionist to the case.
