This morning's fire in an abandoned house on Caron Avenue has Windsor Police and Fire jointly investigating.
The fire just after 1 this morning just south of Wyandotte Avenue caused $50,000 damage.
Just 2 days ago, on Caron Avenue near University Avenue another early morning fire caused $55,000 damage.
Police are calling it a coincidence for now not a connection.
Constable Andrew Drouillard says their arson unit is involved in the investigation but these fires are not deemed deliberately set.
He says there are certainly common factors between the 2 fires; both were overnight, in the early morning hours and in close proximity to one another .
Drouillard says investigators are not ruling out anything, but need more evidence.
"We're just appealing to the public for any information even if it is a small tidbit of information, maybe 3rd hand informatiosays Drouillard, "it could be key to the investigation and we definitely want to hear from those people"
He says they understand people in that neighborhood could be a little worried after these fires but he's encouraging them to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity or people.
Drouillard says it's fortunate that both houses were abandoned because there have not been injuries.
He adds that if anyone has video or other information about either fire to contact police or Crimestoppers.
