Bianca Andreescu is officially the first Canadian to win a Grand Slam singles title.
The 19-year-old upset women's tennis legend Serena Williams 6-3, 7-5 in the U.S. Open women's final in New York Saturday.
Williams was in search of her 24th Grand Slam singles title, which would have tied the record, instead, Andreescu set a record of her own by becoming the first woman to win the U.S. Open in her tournament debut since the Open era began in 1968.
It's the second year in a row the 37-year-old Williams has lost in the U.S. Open final.
