Since the move to stage three of the province's COVID-19 recovery plan, the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit has been dealing with about 10 complaints per day.
"The majority of issues are regarding the compliance with wearing masks and then the next highest complaint is physically distancing on patios but masks and none compliance with wearing masks continues to be the number one complaint," says CEO and Chief Nursing Officer, Therea Marentette.
She says she has reviewed the reports from the health unit's enforcement officers.
"Most of the complaints that I saw on the spreadsheet are not repeat offences,” says Marentette. “Someone complained or there's a compliance visit and they're providing the education and I can see that clearly in the notes that many people have good practices in place.”
The health unit is reporting two additional cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, for a total of 2,452.
Of the new cases on Thursday, one is a local health care worker the the other is a close contact to a previously confirmed case.
