The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) is reporting 17 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor-Essex for a total of 843.
No new deaths have been reported since May 16, with a total of 63.
On Thursday, the WECHU reported outbreaks at eight long-term care or retirement homes, a drop from 13 on Thursday.
15,019 tests have been done with 1,006 results pending.
It was also announced on Friday that random COVID-19 testing will begin next week in Windsor-Essex.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Wajid Ahmed says a random spot will be chosen for the drive-thru centre. People must have a health card and another form of ID to be tested, in case you test positive and the health unit needs to get in touch with you.
