A political science professor from the University of Windsor believes Patrick Brown is harming the Progressive Conservatives.
Speaking on AM800s The Lynn Martin Show, Lydia Miljan says the former PC leader is making things worse for the party prior to June's provincial election.
Brown re-entered the leadership race on Friday after resigning on January 25 amid sexual misconduct allegations.
Miljan believes the Tories are in trouble if Brown wins the leadership race.
"If he actually manages to win the leadership, then I think it gives new life, a new breath of fresh air for the Liberals, but if he's out of the picture I imagine that the Conservatives will have a really strong chance," says Miljan.

Brown is one of five leadership hopefuls for the Progressive Conservatives. The other candidates include Caroline Mulroney, Christine Elliott, Doug Ford and Tanya Granic Allen.
Miljan feels Brown should step away.
"Sometimes you think, 'Just go away Patrick Brown because he is making things worse,'" says Miljan. "He's harming them in the short-term, but in the long term I think they will do very well if they don't have Patrick Brown."
Miljan believes voters are looking for change.
"This huge dumpster fire is happening within the party," says Miljan. "Ontarians are so fed up with the Liberals that they're saying we'd whether pick the dumpster fire then the Kathleen Wynne Liberals which tells you a lot about just the fatigue the voters have right now with the current government."
Brown is set to come to Windsor on February 24 to hold an office opening for PC candidate Mohammad Latif. The event is scheduled to begin at 1pm.
