Environment Canada says our region will experience summer in September, despite the arrival of fall on Friday.
A ridge of high pressure has shoved warmer weather much further north than normal this time of year.
Severe Weather Preparedness Meteorologist Peter Kimbell says temperature will hover right around 30 C for the coming week or so.
He says it won't likely change the record book.
"We're not probably going to beat the records — if we in fact stay about 30 — the record for the Windsor-area is around 30.5 C or 31.5 C, depending on which site you look at — but we'll be very close," says Kimbell.
Kimbell says a cold front is expected early next week to bring us back to more seasonal temperatures.
By contrast, northwest Alberta has a snowfall warning posted.
