The University of Windsor along with universities across Canada are recognizing international students.
About 125 students celebrated World Student Day on campus at the David A. Wilson Commons.
It was a chance for students to interact with each other, meet staff and faculty and participate in dance performances along with a number of games and activities.
Executive Director of Continuing Education Jenny Atkins says the students are from all over the globe.
"It's just building further community," says Atkins. "The students are working really hard to achieve their language proficiency for their academic studies so this is just a fun day. They're dancing with their teachers, they're dancing with staff, it's just a great day."
Atkins adds it's a chance for students to build more relationships.
"I mean they're far from home," says Atkins. "These are their new friends, family and resources so this is a great day for that."
She says most of the students are entering an under graduate program or a graduate program this fall.
