The United Way of Windsor-Essex is thanking a number of its community supporters with awards.
The 'I Believe in My Community Awards' were handed out Thursday at the Essex Golf and Country Club.
Canada Post won the the 'Community Partnership Award'. Heather Sharp of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers calls it a team effort. "We have a lot of wonderful people behind the scenes, outstanding employees, outstanding supervisors that we put a lot of work into the campaign to bring it back up from years before," says Sharp.

The University of Windsor campaign team was presented the 'Campaign Hero Award'. Sheri Lowrie says the recognition feels great. "We did put a lot of effort into our campaign last year and we're working on this year's already, so it's an honour to be nominated and so special to win this," she says.
Tom Weber of RBC Dominion Securities is the 'Leading the Way Award' recipient; Canadian union of Public Employees Local 543 gets the 'Spirit of Community Award'; TD Bank group takes the 'Lead United Team Award' and Diageo Canada was presented the 'Quantum Leap Giving Award'.
