There's disagreement within the ranks.
As the clock ticks toward a strike deadline of 11:59pm, talks between Ford and Unifor continue but the union is not presenting a unified front.
Unifor Local 200 in Windsor has released a statement, condemning the bargaining committee for Local 707, representing workers at the Ford Assembly Plant in Oakville.

Local 707 is refusing to accept the pattern agreement ratified by GM and Fiat Chrysler workers, even if it contains inprovements.
The Local 200 bargaining committee says "Oakville's actions put livlihoods and the future of local jobs at risk. It's not right and its not fair to all Unifor Ford members."
The statement goes on to say "Ford has made it clear it will not do business in a jurisdiction that has the automaker paying more than its competitors and will exit Canadian operations."
Local 200 says "it has never seen a bargaining committee that openly wants to gamble on the future of all Canadian operations."
