Windsor Police are thanking an alert member of the public for helping to prevent an potentially dangerous impaired driving case.
Just after noon on Saturday, officers got a call from a concerned citizen who spotted a driver who appeared to be unconscious sitting in a parked car that had the engine running on Wyandotte St. E.
Police say the driver was asleep at the wheel, but managed to wake her, and believed she was impaired by drugs.
A 33-year old woman was arrested.
A search of the vehicle turned up a quantity of fentanyl, crystal meth, cocaine and two prohibited weapons.
Nicole Arner is charged with impaired operation of a vehicle by drug, three counts of trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a prohibited weapon, and failure to comply with a release order.
Police say thanks to the keen eye of an alert citizen and their willingness to immediately telephone police to report the incident, a dangerous situation was safely resolved.
