Venus Williams ousted in semifinal action

The women's final at Flushing Meadows is set.

Madison Keys dominated CoCo Vandeweghe 6-1, 6-2 to reach her first Grand Slam final.

The 15th seed will face unseeded Sloane Stephens on Saturday in the first U-S Open final between American players since Serena Williams beat Venus Williams in 2002.

Stephens reached her first Grand Slam final by edging Venus Williams 6-1, 0-6, 7-5.

Williams was trying for her third major final of the year and her first at the U-S Open since 2002.
