The Windsor Police Service has announced a new annual event for this fall to recognize community members and raise money for charity.
The inaugural Chief’s Gala will take place on Thursday, October 1, at the St. Clair College Centre for the Arts.
The event will recognize the achievements of Windsor Police members and community partners through a series of awards while raising funds to support Camp Brombal and the Canadian Mental Health Association - Windsor-Essex County Branch (CMHA-WECB).
Windsor Police Chief Jason Crowley says they will be recognizing members of the Windsor Police Service and people in the community during the gala.
“We’ve limited the number of awards to our very high-end awards. Within the service, we’re talking about valour, bravery, and that type of thing. We’re talking about really high-end investigations, but then we look out into the community as well. Support for police, support for the community,” he says.

Since 2002, Camp Brombal has provided a free, four-day summer camp experience for grade 6 students enrolled in the Windsor Police V.I.P. (Values, Influences, and Peers) program. Each July, approximately 40 students participate in camp activities focused on building confidence, developing leadership skills, and creating positive connections with police officers. Hundreds of children have taken part in the program over the past two decades.
The Canadian Mental Health Association - Windsor provides a range of mental health and community health services to support individuals and families across Windsor-Essex.
Additional details about the inaugural Chief’s Gala, including the announcement of award recipients, will be released in the coming weeks.
