15 jobs have been created
A boost to downtown Essex.
Ribbon cutting ceremonies took place Thursday morning to open two new restaurants creating 15 jobs.
'On the Docks' is located at 105 Talbot Street South, while 'Vang's Restaurant' is open at 106 Talbot Street North.
This is the second location for both restaurants.
On the Docks has a restaurant in Harrow, while Vang's has a location in Lakeshore.
Essex Centre BIA Co-ordinator Sylene Argent admits 2019 has been busy so far.
"I have welcomed about ten new businesses to the downtown area and I have one more to welcome that is getting ready to open."
She says the addition of new businesses and restaurants is great for residents and visitors
"Essex is a wonderful town," she says. "Also the town has a wonderful Community Improvement Program which has helped some of the businesses improve their facades which makes the downtown area more attractive as well."

Town of Essex Economic Development Officer Nelson Silveira says these new restaurants show there is no end to the flavour in Essex.
He says independently owned businesses are crucial to building a strong urban core.
