A funding boost for two Windsor companies thanks to the Federal Government.
Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Navdeep Bains was in Windsor on Monday and announced $5-million contribution to APAG Elektronik Corp. and Service Mold & Aerospace Inc. are receiving the funds.
APAG is getting $4-million while Service Mold will receive $1-million.
The minister says the funding will be used to assist with innovative automotive technologies and will create more than 150 jobs.
Johannes Popp is CEO is APAG.
He says the company's production continues to grow.
"I'm more than convinced that we will achieve 150-160 jobs within a very short time and the plant which we built brand new in Czech Republic is more than full so we're even thinking about bringing production over here," says Popp.

Popp adds the Windsor plant will be up and running this summer with full production expected sometime next year.
"We have a year by year plan and of course the market will dictate us whether we're successful or not," says Popp. "This year we are planning to have, we're building up production more than production development for sure."
APAG is currently renovating its Windsor headquarters on Rhodes Dr.
The company manufacturers electronic control parts and LED lighting for automobiles.
