The Minnesota Twins beat the Detroit Tigers 10-4 at Comerica Park Thursday afternoon to sweep their three-game series.
It was the last home game for the Tigers at Comerica Park this season. The team tied the major league record for home losses (59) set by the 1939 St. Louis Browns.
The Tigers minus-221 run differential at home is the worst in major league history, breaking the mark set by the 1883 Philadelphia Phillies at minus-215.
Jordan Zimmerman (1-13) lost for the fourth straight start, giving up six runs and seven hits in 4 1/3 innings. Zimmerman started 23 times this season and set a Tigers' record for fewest wins by a pitcher with 20 or more starts.
Detroit (46-112) will finish with the worst record in the big leagues this season and will have the first overall pick in next summer's baseball draft.
