A LaSalle community garden has bloomed in time for Canada's 150th birthday.
The LaSalle Horticulture Society won a chance to be apart of a nationwide planting accompanying the 150th Celebration Garden in Niagara Falls -- which will have 25,000 red and white tulips.
Society President Jan Dugdale says planting and maintaining gardens brings all walks of life together.
"The youth and elderly people, Rotarians, dignitaries, everybody can come together with the love of gardening, says Dugdale. It's an educational space as well. We do engagement projects with senior citizens, with the youth and it's a nice start I think for the community to have this garden and to have won this garden".
The 1,000 tulips were planted off Front Road near Laurier Drive.
