The trial of an Amherstburg man charged in a fatal crash resumed Monday.
Brandin Crosier, 24, pleaded not guilty to criminal negligence causing death in the November 2016 crash that killed 30-year-old Adam Pouget who was skateboarding to work on County Rd. 18.
A bodycam video of the statement Crosier gave police while he was in the hospital was played in court today.
Crosier told police he was passing another vehicle going about 90km/hour when 'something popped up in front of the car.'
He said it was in the middle of the roadway.
Crosier told police he was running late for work and it was really foggy out.
Lead Investigator Senior Constable Viktor Burany testified the vehicle's hood and roof were damaged and the windshield was shattered.
He also testified Pouget was wearing dark clothing.
