A busy night is on tap for Transit Windsor Saturday.
Executive Director Pat Delmore says up to 2,000 people are expected to use the tunnel bus Saturday night to get to Little Caesars Arena for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings game.
Delmore says Transit Windsor is ready for the rush.
"We always expect it to be a very busy night, very exciting night for all of the residents and visitors to the city and the tunnel bus is the way to get to the game," says Delmore. "We have multiple multiple buses that will be on. It's probably one of our biggest events of the year heading over to Detroit."
He says with the game falling on a Saturday, he expects fans to head over early.
"They're going to go over early, they're going to go have a drink," says Delmore. "The buses will be there earlier then we normally are for a hockey game and it actually helps us, it's spread out over a number of hours whether than everybody coming but then we're there, where buses are lined up ready for people after the game is done."
Delmore says normally for hockey games, between 250 and 300 use the tunnel bus, but it's a lot higher when the Leafs are in town.
"We're anywhere between 1,200 and sometimes as many as 2,000 so it's a busy night," says Delmore.
Game time is set for 7pm.
