A survey is being launched to find out what people want the town to focus on

The town of Essex wants to know what residents want for the future of the town.

A strategic plan community survey is being launched to gather public feedback.

Spokesperson Alex Denonville says the plan will allow the municipality to set long-term goals and give direction to council for the next four years.

"Strategic plans are just away to identify long-term goals for the municipality and we want the community to be apart of that," he says.  "So I think it was both council and administration recognizing the benefit of having some community feedback as part of that strategic planning process."

The survey includes eight priorities and Denonville says residents can offer feedback on their top three.

"We realize you can't identify every priority that someone might want to provide as feedback, so we've provided another additional comments or questions for council to consider," he says.

The survey will take five to 10 minutes to complete.
