The Town of Essex is working to increase accessibility in its facilities.
A release from the municipality says the goal is to create a better experience for all individuals by implementing a virtual app.
The app, called NaviLens, is a wayfinding system that provides enhancements for people with visual impairments. It allows individuals to hear information and navigate through facilities using their phones.
The release explains that visually impaired people won't have to worry about difficulties reading signage, because by scanning codes with the app, they can hear audio prompts that guide them through the area.

Plans for the future include detailed navigation for a fully accessible experience. You can download the app on the Apple App Store, and Google Play.
