The Town of Amherstburg announced the advancement of Valerie Critchley as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) during Monday night's council meeting.
Critchley started her new role with the Town last night when it was officially announced.
Peter Simmons was the previous CAO, but he announced Monday that he is no longer with the town.
Simmons was hired as CAO in late February, taking over for interim CAO Tony Haddad who had held the position after former CAO John Miceli left the town in August of 2021.
Few details were released during the council meeting regarding the reasons behind his departure.
Valerie Critchley joined the Town on an interim basis as Director of Legislative Services and Clerk in October 2021.
