Tourism Windsor-Essex-Pelee Island is ready for the biggest visitor draw of the year.
The Memorial Cup arrives Thursday at 6pm kicking off 10 days of hockey games and festivities.
Tourism CEO Gordon Orr says everyone is pumped.
Besides the hockey games themselves, he says the visitors will be looking for things to do and places to eat.
"We have certainly set up tourism information points at all of our key hotels in the Windsor area to harness and capture the spectators that are here to visit the games," says Orr.
"This has got the biggest draw, the biggest media coverage, the biggest impact and it is the biggest signature sporting event that we are working on this calendar year."
Previous Memorial Cup tournaments have seen an economic impact of between $10-17-million and Orr expects the same this year.
A regional discovery guide has been created to helps visitors know what to do and where to go.
Last year, Red Deer Alberta welcomed 10,000 visitors for the Memorial Cup over a 10-day period.
