A long distance connection has led to a major donation to the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation.
The owners of a Toronto jewelry store Nic and Syd have presented a $10,000 cheque to the Grow On campaign for men's cancer health.
"We have a very good relationship with Sandra and her team over at Caesars Windsor," says store co-owner Nicole Pollack. "Unfortunately in January I lost my cousin and a very, very close friend of mine to cancer so our company ran a campaign to try and raise money for cancer research and prevention"
Pollack says Windsor seemed like the right fit to make the donation.
"Windsor has been really good to us and our family and our relationship with the foundation with the casino and we just thought we want to give back to the community that's been really good to us."
