For the first time since late April, the Toronto Blue Jays have won three games in a row.
Freddy Galvis and rookie Bo Bichette hit solo home runs to lead Toronto over the Kansas City Royals 4-1 Wednesday for a three-game sweep.
Bichette hit his first MLB career homer to open the eighth inning against Royals starter Jakob Junis, a drive to left field.
Cavan Biggio followed Bichette's homer with a double, ending Junis' outing.
Rookie Jacob Waguespack went six innings for his second win in his fourth big-league start and held the Royals to three hits and one run.
Ahead of Wednesday's 4pm trade deadline, the Blue Jays traded Aaron Sanchez and Joe Biagini to Houston and also sent pitcher Daniel Hudson to the Washington Nationals.
