It was nine years ago today the Spits won their first Memorial Cup

It was on this date nine years ago that the Windsor Spitfires won their first Memorial Cup in Rimouski, Quebec.

The Spitfires beat Kelowna 4-1 in the title game, becoming the first team to win the Cup after losing its first two games of the tournament.

This year's Memorial Cup in Regina is off tonight.

The host Pats take on Hamilton tomorrow night in the semifinal, with the winner facing Acadie-Bathurst in Sunday's title game.
