If you had been thinking about sponsoring a shingle as part of the Assumption Church restoration project, time is running out.
Project Spokesperson Paul Mullins says the shingles will start going up on the copper roof starting next week.
As part of the fundraising efforts, people can sponsor a shingle for $250 and in exchange, your name will be permanently placed on the shingle.
So far, 350 shingles have been sponsored raising more than $75,000 during the campaign.
The names are being placed on the shingles this week which will be installed on the roof next week.
"They are ready to start putting the shingles on the roof at the beginning of next week and so that by the end of July, the entire roof should be completed," says Mullins.
Mullins adds a couple of thousand shingles are available for sponsorship.
"There is certainly a lot more that we would be most happy to have people to sponsor, the more the better, if they were all sponsored, it would raise $750,000."
Mullins says the shingle fundraising portion of the campaign will wrap up this month.
"The majority of the work will be done, there will still be some small sections of the roof, that we will be able to do later, but the main part of the roof will be done by the end of July," says Mullins.
