Christin Stewart drives in a pair of runs pushing Detroit past K.C.

In Major League Baseball, Tyson Ross yielded one run while striking out eight over seven innings in the Detroit Tigers' 3-1 win over the Kansas City Royals at Comerica Park.  

Christin Stewart led the Detroit offense with a single, triple, two RBI and scored a run.  Shane Greene picked up his seventh save as the Tigers have won five straight.  

Brad Keller took the loss, yielding three run on five hits over six innings.  

The Tigers are off Monday before putting their five-game winning streak on the line Tuesday against the Indians.  

Jordan Zimmermann opposes Corey Kluber in the first of the three-game set.  Detroit is 7-and-3.  Cleveland is a half-game back at  6-and-3.
