Spencer Turnbull and the Detroit bullpen combined on a three-hitter to give the Tigers a 7-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds at Comerica Park Friday night.
With the win, Detroit moves to 5-3 on the season good for second place in the American League Central.
The Tigers and Reds play the second game of a three game set Saturday afternoon at 1:10pm.
Elsewhere, the Blue Jays are off for a few days after their series with the Philadelphia Phillies was postponed due to a pair of positive COVID-19 tests among Phillies staff.
The team will stay in Washington and work out at the Nationals' stadium this weekend.
The Jays open their next series in Atlanta on Tuesday.
