Detroit opens the season at home on Thursday

The Detroit Tigers took two of three games in New York, beating the Yankees 2-1 on Wednesday.

Matthew Boyd set a career high 13 batters but finished the game with a no-decision.

Yankees shortstop Troy Tulowitzki left the game with a strained left calf. The former Blue Jay is coming back from serious foot and ankle issues after missing all of last season.

Detroit is back home in the Motor City on Thursday to open the MLB season at Comerica Park against Kansas City — first pitch is at 1:05pm.
