Tigers Rally To Drop Royals

The Tigers score three in the ninth inning to win 54 in K.C.

The Tigers put up three runs in the top of the ninth inning to rally for a 5-4 win over the Royals in Kansas City.

Jim Adduci hit a game-tying two-run double in the ninth and then scored the deciding run on James McCann's RBI-double one batter later.  

Alex Wilson picked up the win and Shane Greene his 20th save.  Detroit is 2-and-2 since the break.

Lucas Duda drove in three runs for the Royals, who were coming off a three-game sweep of Minnesota.

Brandon Maurer suffered the loss.

Jordan Zimmermann is set to get the start tonight for Detroit, while Kansas City counters with Burch Smith.
