Tigers Losing Streak Hits Eight

The Miami Marlins double the Tigers to take the first two games of their series in Detroit

In Major League Baseball action, Miguel Rojas singled home the go-ahead run in the seventh inning to lift the Miami Marlins to a 6-3 win over the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park.  

Brian Anderson added a two-run shot in the eighth for insurance.  Miami trailed 3-0 before Garrett Cooper hit a solo homer in the sixth.

Jose Urena went six innings for the win and Sergio Romo posted his eighth save.  

The Marlins have won five straight.  Christin Stewart went 3-for-4 for Detroit and drove in a run.  

Buck Farmer took the loss as the Tigers dropped their eighth in-a-row.

Matthew Boyd gets the nod for the Tigers against the Marlins' Trevor Richards in Thursday afternoon's series finale.
