The number-47 worn by former Tigers ace Jack Morris is now retired.

It was added to the brick wall beyond left-center field during a ceremony yesterday.

Morris and former Tigers shortstop Alan Trammell were recently inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

The Tigers put up three runs in the fifth inning as the Tigers edged the Twins 4-2 in Detroit.

Niko Goodrum walked with the bases loaded to put the Tigers up for good.  Matt Boyd fired six innings of one-run ball to earn the win and Shane Greene notched his 25th save.

The Tigers now welcome the White Sox to town for the start of a three-game series tonight.

Artie Lewicki starts for Detroit, while Chicago counters with Reynaldo Lopez.
