Joe Mauer went 3-for-4 with two RBI to lead a 14-hit attack as the Twins trounced the Tigers 12-1 at Comerica Park.
Jorge Polanco also had three hits and Max Kepler, Byron Buxton and Jason Castro drove in two runs apiece as Minnesota snapped a three-game skid.
Dillon Gee got the win in relief for the Twins, who had lost five of their previous six games.
Jordan Zimmermann gave up three runs in four frames to fall to 8-and-13 with the loss. Jeimer Candelario drove in Detroit's lone run with an RBI double in the third. The Tigers have lost four in-a-row.
Tonight, the Tigers and Twins continue their four-game series, the last homestand for Detroit this season.
With the regular season winding down, the Tigers are looking ahead to the 2018 Spring Training schedule. Detroit will begin play at Joker Marchant Stadium with their annual exhibition game against Florida Southern College February 22nd, with the Grapefruit League home opener against the Blue Jays set for February 24th.
