Tigers need extra innings to beat the Jays and split four game series

Jeimer Candelario collected five hits and drove in a pair of runs in the Detroit Tigers' 4-3 victory over the Blue Jays in 11 innings in Toronto.

Nicholas Castellanos singled home Grayson Greiner with the decisive run.

Matt Moore allowed two singles over seven scoreless innings in his Detroit debut.

Rowdy Tellez belted a pinch three-run homer in the eighth for the Jays to tie the score.

Toronto reliever Elvis Luciano, who turned 19 in February, worked one-and-a-third scoreless innings to become the youngest pitcher in club history and the first in major league history to be born this century.

After splitting four games with the Blue Jays, the Tigers begin a three-game MLB series against the Yankees Monday night in New York.
