Tigers and Jays Both Pull Off Wins

Tigers stop a five game losing streak and Jays pick up their first series win of the season

The Toronto Blue Jays have picked up their first series win of the season.

Randal Grichuk, Justin Smoak and Teoscar Hernandez all homered for the Jays as they beat the Minnesota Twins 7-4 on Thursday.

Eric Sogard added a three-run double for the MLB club, who took three of four at Target Field.

Starter Clay Buchholz allowed three runs on six hits in 4 2-3 innings.

In Detroit, the Tigers stopped a five game losing streak by beating the White Sox 9-7.

Nicholas Castellanos had three hits for Detroit and drove in a pair of runs in the win.

On his 36th birthday, Miguel Cabrera also drove in a pair of runs to help Detroit set season highs for runs and hits.

Drew VerHagen picked up the win after recording the last out of the eighth inning. Shane Greene pitched the ninth for his ninth save in nine attempts.
