The Windsor Spitfires scored five goals in the third period to rally for a 6-4 win over the North Bay Battalion.
It’s the seventh consecutive OHL victory for the Spitfires who led 1-0 after the first, but gave up four goals in the second period Saturday night at the WFCU Centre.
Curtis Douglas and Will Cuylle scored two goals each in the third.
Cuylle’s second goal was the game winner after a beautiful pass from Jean Luc Foudy.
Cole Purboo scored in the first period for Windsor, but North Bay scored four goals in the second by capitalizing on odd man rushes and uncharacteristic turnovers by the Spitfires.
Brad Chenier scored twice for the Battalion while Luke Moncada and Brandon Coe added singles.
Kari Piiroinen made 10 saves on 11 shots to get credit for the victory — he replaced Xavier Medina in goal in the second after Medina allowed three goals on seven shots.
Christian Cicigoi made 35 saves for North Bay (3-15-0) who lost their ninth game in a row.
Windsor (11-3-1) will host the Saginaw Spirit at 4:05 p.m. Sunday.
AM800’s coverage will begin with the pregame show at 3:30 p.m.
