The police service reports a steady year-to-date increase in the number of vehicles impounded due to operation by suspended or prohibited drivers.
According to police, 103 vehicles have already been impounded this year compared to 75 in 2025 and 64 in 2024.
Police say lending your vehicle to someone with a suspended licence could cost you more than you think.
Your vehicle could be seized or impounded; it could be impounded for up to 180 days depending on the offence, and you may also be responsible for all towing and storage fees before your vehicle is returned.
