A financial boost for the University of Windsor's Dandelion Root Project.
The Windsor-Essex chapters of 100 Women Who Care and 100 Men Who Give A Damn have donated $30,000 towards the cancer research project.
Project Advocate Jim Fair says the donation will assist the research team at the university. "It means a great deal to the research team and Dr. Pandi at the University. They've been working hard on this research project since 2009 now. It's moved ahead to the point where it's now in phase one clinical trials with human patients," says Fair
The chapters of the groups meet for only one hour and select a local charity or not-for-profit organization to donate to.
Each members writes a $100 cheque to the selected charity.
Last year, the two groups donated $30,000 to the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation "Grow On" Challenge.
