The Windsor Spitfires are on the way to northern Ontario for a Saturday night game in Sault Ste. Marie.
The Spitfires will hit the ice looking to extend a five-game winning streak that includes a win over the Greyhounds on October 24th.
The Hounds, meantime, have lost three in a row entering Saturday's home game.
Windsor Spitfires centre, Curtis Douglas expects a tough contest.
"The Soo's a great team. They haven't been able to win some games as of late and I think they'll be really hungry this weekend, so we have to come to play a full 60 {minutes}. So we're really excited," says Douglas.
The Greyhounds lead the OHL with 69 goals for so far this season, something Dougals says the team has discussed.
"They have really good coaching and a lot of good high-calibre players. Like {Spitfires head coach Trevor} Letowski was saying in our meetings, they have the most goals for in the league. So they're definitely a strong team offensively, so we just have to play our game," he says.
t's a bit of a slow part of the schedule for the Spitfires as they have, including Saturday night's game, just two games in 13 days. Douglas believes that's good and bad.
"It's definitely weird, it's tough. When you're not playing a game for a full seven days, it gets weird, if feels like you haven't played in a month," he says. "It also really helps us focus on each game and make sure that we're ready to play for that game, that weekend and helps us get on a roll here."
Along with Saturday's game in Sault Ste. Marie, the Spits will also play at home to North Bay on November 9th.
AM800 will have the broadcast from Saturday's game beginning at 6:45pm.
