The grills are firing up this weekend in Amherstburg.
The 9th annual Amherstburg Rotary Rib Fest kicks off this afternoon at Centennial Park on Victoria Street South.
Festival chair Carl Gibb says three day event features live entertainment, rides and games and ribs from four rib vendors.
He says the ribbers and others come from far and wide.
"Some from London, some all over the province," says Gibb. "Bloomin Onion comes in from Montreal so he really likes it here. We're expecting big crowds, great entertainment this year."
He says the event attracted about 15,000 people last year and with pleasant weather and the entertainment lineup, they expect more.
Gibb says with a new high school scheduled to be built soon it will be the last rib fest at the current location.
"This will be our last year at Centennial Park," says Gibb. "We don't know what's going to happen next year but we certainly want to plan for something next year we just haven't nailed down a location yet."
The gates are now open and the entire event continues to Sunday at 7pm.
