Students in the Windsor area are getting a special insight to the Terry Fox story.
Fox's brother Fred is speaking to elementary school students this week.
He brought the story of the Marathon of Hope to students at John Campbell Public School.
Fox says he tells the kids Terry was a lot like them.
"Leave the message of Terry was just like them. An ordinary Canadian kid that had the same challenges that they do. He wasn't the best athlete, not the best student in class and through heart and hard work and determination he was able to meet many of the goals he set for himself," says Fox.
He says his brother asked that people continue his Marathon of Hope, but never imagined it's success.
"I don't think he thought that a couple of new generations would be doing that all these years later, but it makes us so happy and proud that students are keeping Terry's dream alive," says Fox.
Grade 8 student Amira Komeiha is touched by what Terry Fox did.
"I know that Terry Fox is really inspiring. He's inspired me a lot. His story is great and I would love to be like someone like Terry in the future who can make a big impact," says Komeiha.

The Marathon of Hope was 39 years ago, but the foundation named in its honour has raised $750-million towards beating cancer.
Fred Fox will speak to students at Belle River Public School Wednesday at 9:15 am.
