A tentative date has been set to start moving Windsor City Hall into its new digs.
Speaking on AM800's the Morning Drive, Mayor Drew Dilkens says work is proceeding well and they expect to begin moving in the third weekend of May.
Construction work on the five-storey, $32-million project got under way in June 2016 which includes a number of green features, large atrium, council chambers and artistic lighting.
Dilkens says the focus right now is on the interior work.
"There is lots of work ongoing right now, you can see lots of folks working inside taking care of the final touches inside and there are workers outside doing concrete work."
He says staff are anxious to move in and settle in.
"It is starting to look great and I think people are starting to get excited who work at city hall and I know lots of folks who come down who see me say what is that and when it is going to be open."
Although the new building itself is a $32-million project, when you factor in the demolition of the current city hall, hydro transfer and other contingencies, the project will come in at about $43-million.
It is "expected" the current building will be demolished by the end of 2019.
