The Windsor Public Library is encouraging residents to tell it 'where to go.'
Now that the downtown Central branch has been sold, it wants feedback for a new permanent location.
"In the last couple of weeks, we have had over 1,000 tweets and emails and written responses on where the public library could move now that we sold the Central building," says Kitty Pope, CEO of the Windsor Public Library.
Some options include along Riverside Drive, near the Art Gallery Museum and Adventure Bay, along Ouellette Ave. and even in a park, like Jackson Park.
Pope says the vast majority of people want it to remain in the downtown core.
She says along with location, people have some strong views about the new branch.
"Number one on the comments after location is please please free parking, 'we hate paying for parking'," says Pope. "So that has been a big response and lots of people say books and coffee go together really well."
She adds people also appreciate lots of light in a library.
People can go visit http://www.windsorpubliclibrary.com/ to send a response.
She says in the next couple of months, a temporary location will need to be picked first. The Central branch needs to be out of the current building on Ouellette Ave. by June 2019.
